Wait – what happened to the transatlantic cruise and living in Europe?

…. it’s a long story…… maybe some day I’ll write about it.

Fast forward 12 months.

I gave up my apartment in May, 2023. I knew I would spend 2 months in Alaska helping my sister & her husband with some home renovations. Then I would go to Florida to housesit for my brother and his wife while they were away. But I hadn’t figured out what I would do after mid-September. At the beginning of August I had my answer.

Ecuador. Cuenca, Ecuador, to be precise.

I’ve been looking at this city for about 10 years. I have researched other places around the world, done the pros and cons, investigated climate, cost of living, healthcare, crime, and even whether you can drink the water. I keep looking back at Cuenca. So…. time to pull the trigger and see if it could be my new home base. If I’ve learned anything over the last year, it is that the time is now; don’t wait; go while you can.
